Academic Preparation & Education Programs Committee

Andreas Gebauer (Bakersfield), Chair
The Committee’s major focus was AB 484 and its impact on the Early Assessment Program (EAP). AB 484 removes the requirement for school districts to administer the Standardized Testing and Reporting (STAR) test in preparation for the transition to Smarter Balanced Assessment. More »

Faculty Affairs Committee

Manzar Foroohar (San Luis Obispo), Chair
The Committee focused its work and discussions on three major priorities for 2013-14: Encourage recruitment and retention of tenure-track faculty to enhance academic quality; Seek enhanced funding support for faculty research, scholarship, and creative activities to promote student success and benefit society; Make recommendations for drafting an updated, clear, and comprehensive policy on academic freedom for the CSU. Fiscal & Governmental Affairs Committee

This year, the Committee’s priorities are to draft and approve legislative principles and guidelines to assist the ASCSU in dealing nimbly with legislation; to strengthen the relationship with the Legislative Analyst’s Office; to build bridges with the California Department of Finance; and to further explore the CSU financial statements in depth.
