January 29, 2014 Board of Trustees Report
President Kristin Crellin reports on behalf of the Alumni Council to the CSU Board of Trustees.
Now for a report from the CSU Alumni Council is President Kristin Crellin. Kristin, welcome.
Thank you, Chair Linscheid.
I would like to update you on the status of the selection process for the next Alumni Trustee. In December, the Alumni Council’s Trustee Selection & Evaluation Committee performed in-person interviews with semi-finalists selected from among the nominees submitted by the campus alumni associations. Four finalists were selected and will be interviewed by the full Alumni Council board of directors at their meeting on March 21 at Fresno State. From among the finalists, the Alumni Council will elect the next Alumni Trustee. I look forward to sharing the results with you at your March meeting.
While we are at Fresno State the Alumni Council will host a reception and dinner in honor of Chair Linscheid’s service as Alumni Trustee. You will receive an invitation in the next several weeks and we hope you will be able to join us in thanking him for all he has contributed to the university.
In other news, we are in the final stages of preparing our annual Working for California project that highlights alumni who are leaders in key California industries. We have a stellar and diverse group and I look forward to sharing the latest edition with you at your March meeting.
Lastly, we are looking forward to another great turnout for our annual systemwide alumni reception in New York City on February 27. This has grown into an event our East Coast alumni look forward to and we are again grateful to President García for her assistance in securing the University Club as the venue. In a survey to event attendees last year, 90% responded that they wanted to have the event continue at the University Club so this has really helped make the event an annual success.
Thank you, Chair Linscheid, this concludes my report.
Thank you, Kristin. And you know, before I turn the report over to Sarah for the CSSA report, I want to acknowledge you and SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union for sponsoring the lunch for this building. Just for everybody's information, the Chancellor went throughout the building on every floor and Kristin's company, through her leadership, sponsored that lunch. So I personally want to thank you not only on behalf of the Board but as a fellow alum thanks for all your service as well.
