1. This report is based on the Student Enrollment File (ERSS) of the Enrollment Reporting System.
2. The census date for this report is the close of the third week of instruction for campuses on a quarter system and the fourth week of instruction for campuses on a semester system. Enrollments are in terms of the net number of students actively enrolled on the census date.
3. The college year includes fall and spring semesters or summer, fall, winter, and spring quarters. The college year is assumed to begin with the summer quarter.
4. Six of the campuses are on a quarter system (four as year-round), while the remainder are on a semester system. CSU Stanislaus has adopted the "4-1-4" academic calendar consisting of two 13-week semesters and a month-long winter term. College year enrollments are calculated as follows:
Semester and three-quarter calendar campuses: average of term enrollments.
Year-round (four-quarter) campuses: average of fall, winter, and spring enrollments plus one third of summer enrollment.
Stanislaus (4-1-4 calendar): average enrollments are calculated by weighting terms by 13, 4, and 13.
5. Full-time equivalent students (FTE) by term are derived by dividing total semester (quarter) student credit
hours by 15, a theoretical "normal" workload. Annual full-time equivalent students are derived by dividing
total semester student credit hours for the college year by 30, total quarter student credit hours by 45.
6. Definitions of term FTE in the 4-1-4 system at Stanislaus do not conform to systemwide definitions. The inclusion of the special winter term, however, adjusts FTE to systemwide comparability and uniformity of annual FTE.
7. Enrollment type is based on the number of semester or quarter credit hours for which a student was enrolled on the census date, as follows:
Part-time student--fewer than 12 semester or quarter units.
Full-time student--12 or more semester or quarter units.
8. Limited students are those individuals who attempt six or fewer student credit units during a term. As a consequence of the relatively small workload being attempted, such students are charged reduced student fees.
9. Class level for undergraduate students is determined by the number of accumulated semester or quarter credit hours as follows:

10. A postbaccalaureate student holds an acceptable baccalaureate or its equivalent and has not been enrolled in a graduate program.
11. A graduate student holds an acceptable baccalaureate or its equivalent and has been enrolled in a graduate program. The distinction between graduate and postbaccalaureate students reflects transitional reporting based on either Student Standing Code or Degree Objective Code.
12. For purposes of this report, a student is considered to have continued into a subsequent term if he or she is enrolled at the same campus in that term. The level of the student is determined by the level in the initial enrollment period from which continuation is to be determined.
13. Student credit units can be characterized by the level of the course (lower division, upper division, or graduate division) which is being attempted. Annual FTE by course level is calculated by determining the student credit units being attempted at each level of course and dividing the result by 30 (representing the total number of student credit units in a full-time equivalent student).
