Underway Data

Fluorescence | Transmittance | Salinity | Temperature

underway data

Underway data from Monterey Bay to San Francisco Bay from Jan. 23, 2007 at 9:38 to Jan. 26, 2007 at 13:59.

Moss Landing Marine Laboratories (MLML) has outfitted its ocean-going research vessel, the R/V John H. Martin, with underway data acquisition systems (UDAS) and has another UDAS that is portable and can be used on smaller vessels for near-shore studies. The systems vicariously collect water temperature, salinity, transmittance and chlorophyll fluorescence while conducting research cruises.

The MLML Marine Operations website provides specifics on all the instrumentation and links to all the data from the R/V John H. Martin and the portable system; data can be downloaded as a text file or displayed graphically, as above.
