Project Architect Prequalification
Program Overview:
Per Trustees' policy all architectural firms seeking commissions on major
capital projects must be prequalified. The CSU Office of the Chancellor
has established an annual prequalification process to fulfill this
requirement. Prequalification for architectural firms is issued on an
annual basis effective July 1 of each year.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Firms seeking architectural prequalification must be primarily providing
architectural services. Other service providers, i.e., engineering firms,
landscape architects, etc., are not subject to systemwide prequalification
and therefore not included in this systemwide architectural listing.
Firms seeking prequalification must maintain an office within the state
of California.
Architectural commissions awarded through design-build projects are
prequalified on a per-project basis and, at the discretion of the campus,
need not be prequalified systemwide.
Prequalification is an annual requirement. Prequalification from prior
years does not automatically roll over into the next year.
The prequalification is office/location specific. Please submit a separate
application for each office that may wish to seek CSU work.
While other officers of the company may co-sign, the prequalification
application must list an architect licensed in the state of California
and directly associated with the office applying that will be empowered
to sign agreements.
There is no application fee.
Campus Contacts:
Placement on the prequalified listing does not guarantee work. It remains
the obligation of the architectural firms to develop and maintain contacts
with the individual campuses in seeking upcoming project commissions.
