CSU Trustees Discuss 2013-14 Budget, Online Learning and Efficiency

Governor Jerry Brown and CSU Chancellor Timothy White at the January 2013 CSU Board of Trustees meeting The CSU Board of Trustees discussed Governor Jerry Brown’s proposed 2013-14 budget and its effects on the CSU at the Board of Trustees meeting on January 22 and 23. Governor Brown recommends increasing state funding for the CSU by $125.1 million, in addition to reinstating $125 million that was lost in last year’s budget as part of a tuition rollback. More.

SDSU Professor Receives $2 MIL for Sensor Research

San Diego State Professor Antonio Palacios has been given $2 million in funding to develop a new generation of highly sensitive, low-cost magnetic sensors to detect weapons and terrorist targets. More.

The Alcoa Foundation donated $25,000 to CSU Dominguez Hills to expand scholarships for students majoring in science, technology, engineering and mathematics-related degree programs. More.
