EAP Test Results
EAP: New Website Design
Many teachers and administrators are familiar with the reporting of STAR data on the California Department of Education's website, and the CSU is redesigning its EAP website results to follow the same format. In addition to providing information by county, district and individual school, the enhanced EAP website will provide information by subgroups on areas including English language fluency, economic status, parent education, ethnicity, gender and disability.
2007 EAP Results
In 2007, more than 346,000 high school juniors attending California public high schools volunteered to take the EAP, nearly 30,000 more than in the previous year. The increase in the number of students volunteering to take the test is an indication that each year more students aspire and prepare to go to college. EAP test results, for the first time, were included on the STAR report forms that were sent to parents in August 2007. The 2007 EAP results show that of 342,348 students tested in English, 55,206 (16%) demonstrated proficiency, a 1 percentage point increase from 2006. Of 141,648 students who took the math test, 77,870 (55%) demonstrated proficiency, the same percentage as last year.
