SUBJECT:

Executive Order No. 879: Optional Summer Term State University Fee Schedules

Attached is Executive Order No. 879, which adjusts the Optional Summer Term State University Fee (SUF) Schedules to be consistent with the SUF schedule adopted by the Board of Trustees in July 2003. Implementation of these summer term fee schedules continues to be optional.

Each campus adopting an alternative summer term State University Fee schedule must estimate its fee revenue and is still responsible for meeting its fee revenue goal without additional support from the CSU systemwide office.

The summer term fee options will be reevaluated as summer programs are implemented and expanded or, as in this case, when changes to the State University Fee are adopted by the Board of Trustees.

In accordance with policy of the California State University, the campus president is responsible for implementing executive orders where applicable and for maintaining the campus repository and index for all executive orders.

Title:

Optional Summer Term State University Fee Schedules

Effective Date:

Summer Term 2004

Supersedes:

Executive Order No. 848

This Executive Order is issued pursuant to authority granted by Education Code Section 89700 and Board of Trustees' Resolution RFIN 07-03-10. This Executive Order adjusts summer term State University Fee Schedules to be consistent with the fee adjustment adopted by the Board of Trustees in July 2003. It reaffirms the option available to all campuses to implement a summer term, per unit fee schedule and allows campuses utilizing an academic calendar based on quarters to increase the number of units in which their students can be enrolled at the lower tier of the State University Fee. Effective summer term 2004, CSU campuses are authorized to establish the following summer term State University Fee schedules:
