DONALD A. NEWMAN

Profile:

Donald A. Newman joined the Office of General Counsel in July, 1995, as a Litigation Counsel, after sixteen years in private practice with Thelen, Marrin, Johnson & Bridges. In the early 1970's, he taught political science at California State University, Long Beach. Mr. Newman has responsibility for California State University, Fresno and the Chancellor’s Office Personnel Office. He is the Team Leader of the Human Resources Team in the OGC. Mr. Newman is the OGC resource attorney on Collective Bargaining and PERB matters along with Eleventh Amendment/sovereign immunity issues and age discrimination and coordinates the office's analysis of legislation.
