Data exclude 1) student employees, 2) intermittent employees, 3) employees on leave without pay, and 4) faculty in extension, summer and special sessions. The data were developed using the CSU's Corporate Faculty and Staff Data Warehouse.

*Occupational group is used for reporting employee data to the federal government.
Clerical and Secretarial
Includes departmental secretaries, payroll clerks, accounting clerks, mail clerks, etc.
Faculty
All regular instructional faculty, including department chairs and lecturers. Excludes librarians, coaches, and counselors (counted among "professionals"). Also excludes extension or summer session faculty.
Managerial
Includes campus executives, deans, personnel officers, directors of physical plant, and all other managers and supervisors in the Management Personnel Plan.
Professional
Includes persons whose job requires a college education or comparable experience; excludes faculty and managerial employees. Examples include adminstrative analysts, administrators, IT consultants, analyst/programmers, and student services professionals.
Service and Maintenance
Includes custodians, gardeners, laborers, campus guards, etc.
Skilled Crafts
Includes electricians, mechanics, carpenters, etc.
Technical and Paraprofessional
Includes persons whose job requires skills acquired in a junior college or equivalent on-the-job training, such as computer operators, instructional support, and equipment technicians.

**Full-time category includes lecturers working on a full-time basis, and part-time category includes tenure-track faculty working on a part-time basis, such as those in the faculty early retirement program.
