POLICY OBJECTIVE
To establish system wide contracting and procurement policy as required by Education Code. 89036. To reiterate, for the purposes of this ICSUAM policy 5000, the delegation of authority to the Chancellor and to document the chain of delegation of authority.
POLICY STATEMENT
The Chancellor, as the chief executive officer of the California State University and has authority to take whatever actions are necessary, consistent with Trustees’ policy and applicable law, for the appropriate functioning of the institution. Such delegation includes (for purposes of this policy section), but is not limited to the establishment of policies and procedures for acquisition or sale of services, facilities, materials, goods, supplies, and equipment with the authority to sign agreements.
The Chancellor has been delegated authority from the Board of Trustees to purchase personal property, and to enter into agreements for the furnishing of services. (Standing Orders of the Board of Trustees, Chapter III, Section 4-e).
