The CSU Office of International Programs (OIP) is pleased to announce the reopening of its program in Israel starting fall 2012. OIP encourages all CSU students interested in a year of study abroad at the University of Haifa to submit the online application by December 15, 2011. Late applications for Israel will be accepted until April 10, 2012.
The city of Haifa is the third largest city in Israel with a population of nearly 300,000. Characterized by coexistence and mutual respect between diverse religious and ethnic groups, Haifa is a mixed city. Jews, more than a quarter of whom are immigrants from the former Soviet Union, and Arabs, predominantly of the Christian faith, peacefully coexist with Muslim and Druze.
Today, Haifa is a major seaport located on Israel’s Mediterranean coastline and plays an important role in Israel's economy. It has several high-tech parks. In fact, IBM has its headquarters on the University of Haifa campus and, right down the mountain, you will find Israel’s largest high tech center with companies such as: Google, Intel, Qualcomm, Cisco, Microsoft, and many more.
IP students attend the International School at the University of Haifa where courses are taught in English in the following areas:
