The Academic Program in Granada

CSU students take courses in Spanish language and literature as well as in the humanities and social sciences. In addition, all students in Granada are required to enroll in at least one regular university course offered by the Facultad de Filosofía y Letras. IP participants are usually advised to wait until spring semester to take this facultad course.

The Academic Program in Madrid

The University of Madrid traces its history to the beginning of the 16th century, but the current campus was built in the 1920s. The Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM) has a student body of 180,000.

CSU students take courses in the "Universidades Reunidas," where courses are offered exclusively for students from a number of American universities. While your classmates will be other Americans, courses are taught in Spanish by Spaniards. Therefore, teaching methods remain largely Spanish, giving CSU-IP participants a Spanish university experience. CSU students take courses in Spanish language & literature, as well as in the humanities and social sciences.

In addition to the courses offered through the "Universidades Reunidas," CSU students are required to enroll in at least one regular university course offered by one of three cooperating Facultades of the Universidad Complutense (Filosofía, Filología, and Geografía e Historia). IP participants are usually advised to wait until the spring semester to take this facultad course.
