Host a one-day, system-wide Gerontology Summit in March to identify approaches to improve gerontology teaching and to establish an active teaching community of CSU gerontology faculty. Edit and distribute videotaped plenary sessions and create and distribute a report that identifies faculty expertise, describes innovative methods, and lists resources and collaborative opportunities.
Glass Arts Mary White
(San Jose)
Host a three-day glass information exchange in conjunction with the CA Glass Exchange in March for all seven CSU campuses with glass arts programs to explore innovative design, industry-related opportunities for graduates, energy-efficient practices, Venetian glass-blowing techniques, and alternatives to glass-blowing.
Math Education Sharon Ross
(Chico)
Host a two-day, system-wide meeting of Mathematics education faculty in April to discuss new CCTC guidelines; to share information on curricula, courses, assessment, and resources; to develop an online resource clearinghouse and community of Mathematics educators; and to plan future face-to-face meetings.
