San Francisco State Alumni Shine Bright in Hollywood

San Francisco State Alumni Annette Benning (B.A., ’80) and Lisa Cholodenko (B.A., ’87) shined at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards ceremony when the poignant family comedy “The Kids are All Right” received the Golden Globe for best motion picture - comedy or musical.
The pair is again making waves in the entertainment industry with their nominations for the 83rd Academy Awards (Oscars) ceremony. Their accolades include the following nominations:
- Actress in a Leading Role: Annette Benning for her role as Nic in “The Kids are All Right”
- Writing for an Original Screenplay: “The Kids are All Right” written by Lisa Cholodenko (director and co-writer) & Stuart Blumberg
- Best Picture: “The Kids are All Right”
This marks the 12th consecutive year that San Francisco State alumni have earned Oscar nominations. The winners for the Academy Awards will be announced on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011.
