California Pre-Doctoral Program

The 2018-19 Scholarship Application cycle is now closed.

Applications for the 2019-20 year will be available in mid-December, 2018.

The California Pre-Doctoral Program is designed to increase the pool of potential faculty by supporting the doctoral aspirations of California State University (CSU) students who have experienced economic and educational disadvantages. The program places a special emphasis on increasing the number of CSU students who enter doctoral programs at one of the University of California (UC) institutions.

Announcements and application forms for the program are circulated each year in early December through the office of each campus Pre-Doctoral Program Coordinator. Eligibility is limited to junior, senior and graduate students who are enrolled in degree-seeking program at any one of the CSU campuses at the time of application. At the time of award, applicants must be matriculated into a degree program and be enrolled in one semester or two quarters during the award year. International students are not eligible to apply.

Please speak with your campus coordinator for more details.
