| Corporations
Recognizing the importance of a well-prepared workforce,
corporations continue to be generous with both financial contributions
and in-kind support. Corporations contributed $82.29 million
in 2002-2003, including 15 contributions of $1 million or
more.
Corporations also support funding priorities by matching contributions
from their employees. These matching gifts enhanced the value
of individual contributions by nearly $1 million.

Foundations
Private foundations, including family foundations, contributed
$39.89 million—18.9 percent less than last year. San
Diego State, the CSU's only doctoral institution, received
34 percent of the foundation giving total, which included
the largest foundation gift valued at $6 million.
