Contribution Highlights

  • California State University, Fresno reached 84 percent of its comprehensive campaign goal by posting $167.9 million in commitments by June 30, 2011. Although budget reductions and the global recession added challenges, progress was significant, and Fresno State’s alumni and friends continued their support. To date, more than 26,200 donors have made over 108,000 gifts to the campaign.
  • A $1 million bequest gift from an Arts and Humanities alumnus will enhance linguistics programs. The first scholarship for the nursing doctoral program was received. The Knorr Simulation Laboratory providing high-tech equipment and training for nursing students was opened. Substantial gifts to support Persian and Cultural Studies are being matched. A second chair in Viticulture was pledged. The Henry Madden Library is laying groundwork for the Water Ways Project, a major initiative to document the impact of water policy and use on the land and communities of the Central Valley.
  • Estate gifts continued to make major impacts as well. Eight gifts were added, including four that will support Athletics. Progress on a large anonymous bequest which will benefit the College of Health and was made Human Services.
