Contribution Highlights
- The Patricia D. and William B. Smullin Foundation gave a $400,000 gift in support of the School of Business. The gift creates the Smullin Undergraduate Business Internships, which will provide paid internship experiences to 150 students over the next five years. It will fund hands-on work experiences in businesses, non-profits and government organization in Humboldt, Del Norte, and Trinity Counties. The goal is to provide valuable work experience while also helping the local economy.
- Thomas and Doris Montgomery, who are parents of Humboldt State university graduates, gave $322,000 to complete their $1 million scholarship endowment. The Montgomery Scholarship supports students involved in projects that directly improve the lives of others. In essence, each student is the first of many people who benefit from the Montgomery’s generosity.
- The Bernard Osher Foundation gave a $500,000 gift to create the Osher Scholarship Endowment for California Community College Transfer Students. The endowment will provide scholarships for at least 10 transfer students each year.
