Contribution Highlights
- CSU Sacramento’s Campaign for Nursing continued to bring in support from alumni, faculty members and health care organizations, including a $300,000 gift from Dignity Health to name a skills lab, a $50,000 pledge from the Teichert Foundation and a $50,000 commitment from George and Linda Crandell (’98).
- Realized bequests totaled over $480,000. These will benefit the Department of Music, the Athletics Department, College of Business Administration scholarships, College of Education scholarships and faculty development programs. Bequests were received from the estates of alumni Dr. Charles Keaster (’50, MA ’52), Duane E. Johnson (’66), Pamela R. Ormaas (’82), George Malkovsky (’52, MA ’61) and Phyllis Sorichetti (’68), creating a legacy that impacts future CSU Sacramento graduates.
- More than $75,000—including $50,000 from the Sleep Train Ticket to Dream Foundation, $15,000 from the Foster Youth Fund and $10,000 from Soroptimist International of Sacramento—was given to the Guardian Scholars Program to support former foster youth who wish to pursue a college education.
- Alumnus Jack Bertolucci (’50) gave a $10,000 gift to establish the Bertolucci Student Assistance Scholarship that supports students in the College of Business Administration and encourages them to stay in school despite rising tuition costs. Mr. Bertolucci continues to fund scholarships for student athletes as well.
- Emeritus Professor Ronald Holloway contributed $40,000 to create a scholarship to support wind, brass and percussion students in the Department of Music.
