Lori A. Redfearn

Lori A. Redfearn is Assistant Vice Chancellor of Systemwide Advancement for the California State University Office of the Chancellor. She provides strategic leadership for the 23 CSU universities by encouraging systemwide best practices, performance benchmarking and accountability standards; oversees the analysis of institutional advancement data; coordinates training and program resources; and develops policies and procedures. She also serves as vice president and chief operating officer for the California State University Foundation.
Redfearn has over 20 years of experience in philanthropy, with perspectives as both a fundraiser and a grantmaker. Prior to her engagement with the CSU, she was a program associate with the Archstone Foundation, a philanthropic health foundation. She also serves on the national taskforce developing the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) Advancement Investment Metrics Study. The objective of the study is to create a standardized methodology for calculating advancement return on investment and the fundraising cost to raise a dollar. She has conducted similar research at the CSU for the past seven years.
Redfearn is a lifetime member of the CSU Fullerton alumni association and a founding board member of the Nonprofit Professionals Alumni Chapter, which encourages students to seek careers in public service. She is a faculty member for the Peabody Professional Institute for Institutional Advancement Leadership at Vanderbilt University and is a frequent conference presenter.
