Dustin May joined the California State University’s Office of General Counsel in August 2019. Dustin is the University Counsel for San José State University and a member of the Office of General Counsel’s Human Resources team. He previously was University Counsel at California State University, Humboldt. He also serves as a resource attorney on matters relating to collective bargaining/PERB, Wage/Hour/FLSA/Fair Pay Act. Before joining the CSU, Dustin was a senior associate at the international law firm of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP and practiced in the firm’s Labor & Employment Department. At Gibson Dunn, his practice focused on class action defense and other complex employment litigation, including state-wide and national employment wage and hour and discrimination matters at both the trial and appellate levels. Dustin also advised and counseled clients on a variety of employment matters, including wage and hour issues, personnel policies, and internal investigations. Dustin is admitted to practice law in California.
