​Dr. Rajee Amarasinghe is a transformative national leader and his many accomplishments have had a profound impact on mathematics education.  Professor Amarasinghe joined the CSU Fresno Mathematics Department in 2000 and has served as department chair since 2014. Early in his career at CSU Fresno he was awarded the Jan and Bud Richter Award of Excellence in Education. He has been a leader on several major grants, particularly those that positively impact the preparedness of mathematics teachers. He developed and organizes the popular STEM Summer Academy for 4th-12th grade students. Rajee leads by example with a collaborative approach that brings out the best in people. As one colleague states, “Rajee is humble but demanding, a leader by doing exemplary work.”
