​Dr. Cusick thrives off the curiosity of others and does her best work in collaborative thinking about human values and practices in responsible community membership. An Assistant Professor of Philosophy with specialties in epistemology, social philosophy, and philosophies of race, gender, and sexuality, Prof. Cusick studies the role of listening in epistemological justice. She is an epistemologist in response to a lifetime of curiosity, always seeking to know things and to know what knowing is. She studies social aspects of knowing and social identities in recognition that we are social communicative beings who still need to identify and resist injustices. Service is what those who partake do to ensure future opportunities for partaking. So, she serves where she can be of use in fulfilling the university’s mission.
