​Since joining Fresno State in 2008, Dr. Kim has shown an ongoing and prolific track record of scholarly accomplishment. His primary research has focused on combining Electromagnetics with artificial intelligence in service of human motion analysis. His application of a spectrum of deep learning algorithms to electromagnetic imagery has broken ground in human motion classification while offering insights into autonomous vehicle development, smart health care, and intelligent home design.

Dr. Kim has authored more than 85 peer-reviewed articles as well as a book chapter. His publications have been cited more than 1,800 times, including 515 citations of a single publication. He has secured more than $1 million in external grant funding and is a senior member of the IEEE.
