Currently senior editor, Page One of The Wall Street Journal, editing in-depth enterprise stories on politics, finance, corporations and foreign affairs, as well as breaking news, for the front page of the largest newspaper in the United States.
Joined The Wall Street Journal as a national news editor during the 2008-09 financial crisis using his degree in economics to help edit stories of the biggest global financial story in decades.
Directed coverage of two Pulitzer Prize-winning breaking news events for the Los Angeles Times: a 1997 bank robbery in North Hollywood and the 2003 Southern California wildfires.
Worked for more than 20 years at the Los Angeles Times as a reporter, assistant city editor, city editor and foreign correspondent in Mexico City.
Began his career in journalism in 1980 as a reporter for the South Bay beach cities weekly newspaper Easy Reader, splitting his time between work and attending classes at CSU Dominguez Hills.
