Nobari spent 22 years focused on building global fashion brand bebe, inc. where she served as vice president of design and vice chair of the board. She exited the company at the pinnacle of its success and pivoted to her humanitarian work.
Since 2013, she has served as board chair, director, and trustee at over a dozen nonprofit organizations. In 2020, Neda's foundation relaunched as MOZAIK Philanthropy, with a mission to explore and model new practices across the sector.
Nobari is an inaugural member and current vice chair of the SF State Foundation's board. As chair of the board's investment committee, she helped adopt a socially responsible investment policy for the foundation's endowment and was pivotal in helping establish a “Green Fund" that led the way in eco-focused investing.
Nobari established the Center for Iranian Diaspora Studies at SF State, the first and only academic institution of its kind dedicated to research and teaching about the historical and cultural experiences of the global Iranian diaspora community.
Nobari has served as executive producer and supported social issue films including the 2019 Oscar-nominated “Los Comandos"; “Midnight Traveler", 2020 Emmy-nominated recipient of the
Peabody Award
; and “She Could Be Next", presented by POV/PBS, and “Coup 53", which premiered to critical praise at the 2019 Telluride Film Festival.
