At the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Brown Trafton became America’s first gold medal-winning women’s discus thrower in 76 years. She is one of only three American women to have ever won the event.
She ended her 2008 season ranked No. 1 in the world.
During her college career at San Luis Obispo she was named NCAA All-American six times.
Brown Trafton currently works on the board of directors at the USATF Pacific Foundation, which supports athletes in track and field, cross country, long distance running, and racewalking.
