  • In 2008, Chamitoff lived and worked aboard the International Space Station for approximately six months.
  • Before joining NASA in 1995, he worked on the Hubble Space Telescope.
  • While at Cal Poly, he developed a self-guided robot for his undergraduate thesis.
  • Since 2013, Chamitoff has worked as a professor of engineering practice and aerospace engineering at Texas A&M University.
