Supporting Graduation Initiative 2025
As a community of nearly 4 million, CSU alumni make up the largest constituency in the university and are a key partner in
Graduation Initiative 2025. In March 2017, the
CSU Alumni Council focused their spring meeting on how alumni can support the Graduation Initiative in two major areas: addressing students' basic needs--allowing academics to be every student's primary focus--and early career development.
The Council also passed a resolution committing to be an active and engaged partner in
student success. Part of this commitment was to take the ideas from the meeting and produce a toolkit of best practices that campus alumni associations can draw upon to help their campus meet its own Graduation Initiative 2025 goals.
The toolkit below can be organized by short- to long-term initiatives, low- to high-impact, and low- to high-need for resources, allowing alumni from campuses of all sizes to support students' work toward graduation. Additionally, campuses engaged in particular practices are listed. The toolkit may be edited to include new initiatives or to add campuses who embark on a particular project.
