The California State University Asian American, Native Hawaiian & Pacific Islander Student Achievement Program (CSU ASAP) was authorized by the California Education Code Section 89297.1 in 2022. The legislation provides for $8 million in ongoing funding for culturally responsive services to enhance student educational experiences and promote higher education success for low-income, underserved and first-generation AANHPI students and other underrepresented students. A similar program was also established at the California Community Colleges.
