​​Recruited as a relatively novice swimmer in 2021, Emilie Giannini has become a great asset to Cal State East Bay’s swim team. Competing in distance freestyle, she helped her team win a conference championship in 2023. 

Emilie is a senior majoring in kinesiology and has made the dean’s list every semester. She was named the Pacific Collegiate Swim Conference Swimmer of the Week and is a Presidential Scholarship recipient at CSUEB. 

Emilie volunteers at French Hospital, where she shadows physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech therapists. She coaches young athletes on her club swim team. Additionally, she will be working as a kinesiology tutor and at the university’s gym. 

Emilie plans to pursue a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in hopes of becoming a physical therapist to help people live their fullest lives.
