Trustee Emeritus Kenneth Fong Scholar
Nathaniel Morgan spent much of his
childhood living out of a car and in homeless
shelters. Although he struggled in school, his
involvement in the Educational Opportunity
Program in community college gave him the
confidence to succeed academically. Working
as a tutor and teaching assistant, Nathaniel
learned to appreciate his teachers and the
importance of education.
As a biological sciences major at California
Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo,
Nathaniel has embraced the opportunity to
participate in research opportunities. He is
interested in community involvement and
giving back through volunteering. He has
served as a science and math tutor and
assisted students applying for college.
Nathaniel has always been passionate about
biology. With the help of professors who have
involved him in their work, he continues to
pursue research opportunities with the goal
of earning a master’s degree in population
genetics.
