Peter J. Taylor became president of the ECMC Foundation in 2014. The foundation's mission is to inspire and to facilitate improvements that affect educational outcomes, especially among underserved populations, through evidence-based innovation. From 2009 - 2014, Taylor was chief financial officer of the University of California system after spending most of his career in investment banking, as a managing director in municipal finance for Lehman Brothers and Barclays Capital.
Taylor also serves on the boards of Edison International, the Kaiser Family Foundation, the Ralph M. Parsons Foundation and the J. Paul Getty Trust, where he chairs the Audit Committee. Previously, he was chair of the Boards of Directors for the James Irvine Foundation and the UCLA Foundation. He was also president of the UCLA Alumni Association Board of Directors, and the alumni representative on the UC Board of Regents for two years.
Taylor received his bachelor's degree from UCLA, and a master's degree in public policy analysis from Claremont Graduate University. He also is a graduate from the Coro Southern California Fellowship in Public Affairs, in Los Angeles.
