California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo’s School of Education offers credentials and graduate degrees in Education; Master’s degree specializations are offered in Special Education, Educational Leadership and Administration, Curriculum and Instruction, and Counseling and Guidance. Credential programs include Multiple Subjects, Single Subjects (various subject areas), Special Education (mild-moderate), an Administrative Services Credential and an Administrative Services Internship Program.
As part of the College of Science and Mathematics, the School of Education’s teacher preparation programs lead the campus in an all-university approach to training teachers with a focus on STEM Education. In collaboration with colleagues throughout Science and Mathematics, and in the Colleges of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences, Engineering, and Liberal Arts, School of Education faculty are deeply committed to offering field-based, applied learning experiences within academically challenging programs.
The School of Education develops and supports qualified, competent and caring education professionals who prepare a diverse student population to become active and thoughtful participants in a democratic society. In addition to preparing teachers and school leaders, the School’s Counseling and Guidance program prepares students to work in student affairs positions throughout higher education.
