Adam Suleiman
Stanislaus State
"Stanislaus State has helped me grow as a future educator in many ways. I was first inspired to teach when I had the opportunity to work in an elementary school setting through my job with the
Federal Work-Study America Reads program. This work allowed me to provide support to students academically and as a mentor/motivator while gaining early field experience in teaching.
Throughout my collegiate career as a liberal studies major I have had the opportunity to work with a rich, diverse community in Turlock. I have worked with several teachers, all of them possessing different teaching styles and techniques, and I have learned so much from each of them. I have grown to respect the school administrators and teachers in the Turlock area and surrounding communities as I've seen that they have high expectations for their students and are committed to providing each student with the resources and assistance they need to be successful. Their commitment level, coupled with the support of the Stanislaus State Teacher Education faculty and staff, helped reaffirm that being a teacher and mentor is my calling. I really can't see myself doing anything else."
