REGIONAL BENEFITS​

The impact of ​the CSU on California's economy is impressive, but the benefits are equally remarkable at the regional level. With 23 campuses located across the length and breadth ​of the state, the culture and economy of counties and communities always​ benefit from the presence of a CSU campus. Direct spending—investment in capital, operations and auxiliary expenditures, as well as the purchase of goods and services—represents a significant portion of the CSU's economic impact on a region. But the full impact is more nuanced, as the economic activity in any sector generates increased activities throughout the economy.
