I still believe in educating people one concept at a time, one student at a time and one moment at a time.
The mathematics professor and recipient of the Outstanding Professor Award is most proud of his record of achievement of helping students succeed. Many have earned advanced degrees and become high school and university math teachers. Annin is co-directing a $600,000 National Science Foundation grant project to support disadvantaged students aspiring to earn a graduate degree in mathematics.
In his 13 years at CSUF, Annin has, in the words of one former student-turned-professor, "joyfully taught" 20 different courses, prepared students to present at conferences, served as Math Club adviser and coached students for competitions. He recharges his batteries each summer by serving as a hikemaster.
