​There is no greater joy, for Dr. Fan, than seeing her students and advisees succeed. Besides successfully implementing a variety of campus initiatives to redesign her courses by bringing new technologies and pedagogies into the classroom, she involves her students and advisees in research projects examining economic impacts of climate change and encourages them to publish their work in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Fan has published in top journals in the field of environmental and natural resource economics and been awarded numerous competitive grants. She serves in community roles supporting community economic development and engaging students in community service projects. Dr. Fan credits the influence of colleagues, mentors, and family to her success as Promising New Faculty.
