Leads one of the most powerful trade associations in the nation. Western Growers represents local and regional family farmers growing fresh produce in Arizona and California that provide half the nation’s fresh fruits and vegetables.
Serves on the Agricultural Policy Advisory Committee in Washington, D.C., and is one of the three national co-chairs for the Specialty Crop Farm Bill Alliance.
Selected by President Ronald Reagan to serve as ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco from 1985-1988. He was decorated by the late King Hassan II of Morocco and the President of Lebanon for his work on Middle East issues and currently serves as chairman and CEO of the American Task Force for Lebanon.
Appointed Deputy and Acting Chief of Protocol for the White House in 1981. Promoted to the position of Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Near East and South Asian affairs in 1983.
Worked as chairman of Gulf Interstate Engineering in Houston, president of Los Alamos Land Company and was managing partner of Aequitas International Consulting.
