Foos founded a small, novelty record store called Rhino Records that eventually grew into an iconic record label, later sold to Time Warner.
He is credited for helping start a reissue boom in the United States for music, television and feature films.
Along with other partners, Foos founded and became the CEO of Shout! Factory, a multi-platform media company that specializes in preserving classic and cult feature films and TV shows by brining them to DVD and Blu-Ray.
A hands-on philanthropist, Foos is Chairman Emeritus for Little Kids Rock and serves on the boards of The Nation Institute, Government Accountability Project, Youth Policy Institute, Tree Academy and other nonprofits that make a strong commitment to social progress.
