The CSU Council on Ocean Affairs, Science & Technology (COAST) hosted its first Faculty-Student Research Poster Reception at the Chancellor's Office on January 25 2011. Faculty mentors and student researchers from 20 campuses were present to discuss their marine and coastal research with the Chancellor, CSU Presidents, Trustees and staff. Topics covered included invasive species, sustainable seafood, marine protected areas, fisheries, environmental contaminants, marine geology and ocean acidification.
