  • Trailblazers in STEM: ExCELS Scholars Shine at Prestigious HACU Conference​) 

    The ExCELS Scholarship Program, a collaboration between CSU San Bernardino and CSU STEM-NET, celebrates scholars Jerry Cervantes-Fernandez and Alexis Luevanos for receiving HACU Scholarships to attend the 38th Annual HACU Conference in Denver. The event offered over 50 workshops with industry leaders like Google and Fidelity, focusing on career development and networking. Jerry connected with Yahoo professionals and shared ideas with HACU leadership, while Alexis gained valuable insights into stress management and career strategies. Their success reflects the program's mission to empower underrepresented students in STEM and inspire future leaders.​

  • STEM-NET Summer Student Research Presentations: Celebrating Innovative Undergraduate Research. (Group 2) 

    Congratulations to the recipients of our second round of STEM-NET Summer Student Research awards! Seven students each received $3,750 to conduct undergraduate research under the guidance of CSU faculty during summer 2024. They will present their findings virtually on October 30, 2024, at 11 a.m.

  • CSUSB Data Science Students Shine at IEEE DSAA Conference 

    Nathan Kelly, a CSUSB master’s student, won the Best Student Poster Presentation Award at the 11th IEEE International Conference on Data Science and Advanced Analytics (DSAA 2024). This achievement marks the culmination of the NSF-funded DS-PATH project, which supported over 30 undergraduates and developed new Data Science programs, including a minor and certificate. CSUSB is now expanding its offerings with a planned B.S. in Data Science, supported by $1.275 million in continued funding and collaborative partnerships with other institutions.

  • STEM-NET Summer Student Research Presentations: Celebrating Innovative Undergraduate Research. (Group 1)

    Congratulations to our STEM-NET Summer Student Research recipients! Five students received $3,750 each for summer 2024 undergraduate research under CSU faculty guidance. They will present their findings virtually on September 13, 2024, at 11 am, along with Brian Rubio, Edison Fellowship awardee from spring 2024.

  • Spring 2024 STEM-NET Edison Student Research Fellowship Recipients 

    We are excited to announce the 2024 Spring Edison STEM-NET Student Research Fellowship recipients! In partnership with Edison, STEM-NET has awarded $3,750 to 23 students to support their undergraduate research projects for the spring 2024 term under the guidance of CSU faculty members. After their research, the students will present their findings at a virtual symposium on Thursday, May 9th, 2024, at 9 am.

  • Evelyn Pohle's Equation: A Journey Towards Equity in High School Math Textbooks 

    Evelyn Pohle, a dedicated educator and researcher, has made significant strides in advancing equity in education. Her research, published in the winter 2024 edition of Teaching for Excellence and Equity in Mathematics, highlights the need for diversity and inclusion in high school math textbooks. Evelyn's work, mentored by CSU faculty member Alison Marzocchi, provides actionable recommendations for educators to enhance inclusivity in teaching materials. She currently teaches English in Madrid and plans to return to the US to pursue a career as a high school math teacher, integrating her research findings to create a more inclusive learning environment. Evelyn's commitment to education and research aims to challenge and change existing narratives around diversity in STEM..
