College-Focused Rapid Re-Housing Program Request for Proposals

The College-Focused Rapid Re-Housing Program Request for Proposals are aligned to meet the expectations of Assembly Bill 74 Rapid Re-Housing (AB 74-RRH), which will provide funding for six to eight campuses to help develop a college-focused rapid re-housing program. 

Please note: This funding is separate from the one-time funding also included in AB 74 for general campus basic needs efforts.

Goals for the funding are to:

  • Build and continue an ongoing college-focused rapid rehousing program on campus
  • Establish partnerships with at least one community-based housing provider to offer wraparound services and rental subsidies for eligible students
  • Connect students with community case managers who have knowledge of and expertise in accessing safety net resources
  • Establish ongoing emergency housing procedures, including both on- and off-campus resources
  • Provide emergency grants necessary to secure housing or prevent the imminent loss of housing
  • Conduct assessment and evaluation to track outcomes and guide program/service improvements

Funding Requirements

There are three additional components funded College-Focused Rapid Re-Housing Program teams must fulfill:​

  1. Complete the Reporting Templates

    2. Campus teams must submit reports on the status of their campus activities. The proposed deadlines for each reporting period are as follows:

    • Reporting Deadline 1: May 15​, 2020
    • Reporting Deadline 2: May 1, 2021
    • Reporting Deadline 3: May 1, 2022
    • Reporting Deadline 4: June 1, 2023  
  2. Attend Professional Development Workshops

    3. We will provide more details via email on the dates and times for each professional development workshop by November 1, 2019.​

  3. Submit a Profile for the Campus-wide Best Practices Directory
    • The Best Practices Directory will be a comprehensive listing with a sampling of actions, activities, services and resources related to basic needs and housing in the CSU.
    • Highlight current programming and additions related to Basic Needs Partnership funding
    • Template to be provided Spring 2020
