California State University, Stanislaus
Trustee Emeritus Kenneth Fong Scholar
The oldest child in her family and a first-generation college student, Livier
Camarena Sanchez has always persevered when it comes to her education.
As a child of migrant parents, she witnessed the sacrifices they made for
their children. Today, Livier is a senior at California State University, Stanislaus,
majoring in biological sciences with a concentration in molecular and microbial
biology and a minor in chemistry.
Livier has completed the University Honors Program, taken part in the Kaiser
Permanente Summer Internship program, participated in a variety of volunteer
activities, and held officer positions in the Pre-Health Society and Honors
Endeavors Club at Stanislaus State. She is a student assistant for Safety and
Risk Management on campus and a medical scribe at Doctors Medical Center.
Livier’s own experience with medical hardship have inspired her to attend a
graduate or professional school after obtaining her bachelor’s degree. She’ll
then pursue a career in gynecology, focusing on women’s preventive care.
