The CSU Fullerton College of Education offers a wide range of exemplary programs for aspiring education professionals, including teachers, school administrators, community college leaders, and student affairs professionals. Many of the programs can be taken entirely online, and most use a cohort model that supports a learning community for students. All are taught by faculty who are experienced practitioners and who are committed to their students’ success. The College is committed to serving the schools, colleges and communities in the region and beyond. Several centers housed in the College facilitate outreach and partnerships. For example, the Schools First Center for Creativity and Critical Thinking and the Center for Maximizing Teacher Impact provide high quality, innovative professional development for teachers.
The College of Education programs have a distinctive reputation for excellence. The College maintains a commitment to ongoing assessment and self-reflection in order to adjust to the changing needs of the constituents and continue to evolve and improve. To that end, a five-year strategic plan was created to focus on achieving the aspirational vision “to be transformational leaders who advance the readiness of all learners to actively participate in an ever-changing, diverse and digital world.” Ongoing strategic initiatives are focused on goals related to 1) faculty roles and engaged scholarship; 2) local, regional, national and international partnerships; 3) just, equitable, and inclusive education; and 4) effective use and integration of technology to support teaching and learning.
