Our vision for CSU's Colleges and Schools of Education is a system where every Educator Preparation Program has a sustained and institutionalized approach to data use that:
- Promotes an inquiry orientation to data use
- Provides a data infrastructure and coherent set of systems that enables access to high-quality measures that support continuous improvement goals and processes.
- Establishes routines and norms for collaborative data conversations
- Grounds improvement efforts in short cycles of data collection and evaluation[1]
Resources, Coaching and Facilitation Support for Leaders
Navigating the demands of accountability and accreditation while building a coherent data infrastructure and a culture of continuous improvement can be challenging for any leader or leadership team.
The EdQ Team offers consultation, coaching and facilitation to EPPs in the following areas:
- Dashboard introduction for first-time users
- Guided inquiry of campus results focused on specific topics of interest
- Launching and supporting continuous improvement cycles using DataView and other data sources.
- Individual coaching for leaders planning data conversations
Improvement Groups
Helping a newly-formed team or group achieve an improvement aim is challenging work requiring a mix of improvement content, coaching, and associated resources. Using the tools and frameworks of Improvement Science, EdQ provides campus technical assistance supporting the launch and development of a small number of high-priority local improvement efforts. EdQ also connects a growing community of EPP faculty and staff engaged in improvement efforts to one another, building a common, system-wide set of improvement tools and resources.
EdQ also convenes and supports several networks addressing system-wide improvement goals. See Systemwide Initiatives for more information about these groups.
