Doug Effenberger, PE, is a Principal at P2S Inc, a 300-person consulting engineering and commissioning firm with offices throughout the western United States. He has extensive experience working on electrical system planning, design, construction, and operation. As an electrical engineer, Doug brings over 41 years of building electrical system design, electrical power distribution design and utility master planning experience to the CSU system. Doug has worked with numerous institutions of higher education including community colleges, public and private universities, and has been designated as the Campus electrical engineer for many of the campuses he works on. Doug works with each campus to address their critical needs and assist with long range planning for electrical infrastructure, electrification to reduce GHG and promote decarbonization efforts, electric vehicle charging systems, microgrids, resiliency and maintenance programs. Doug is a member of and past officer of the IEEE. Doug has been a member of the CSU Mechanical Review Board since its inception and has collaborated with other MRB members to prepare the Guidelines issued by the MRB. Doug has completed numerous peer reviews and ESR’s during his tenure as an MRB member.
