Henry T. Perea is manager, west coast region, state government affairs for
Chevron Corporation. Chevron is one of the world’s leading integrated
energy companies.
Henry directs the west coast region team that advocates on energy policy
issues with key stakeholders.
Henry joined Chevron in April 2018 from WSPA where he served as senior vice president, policy and strategic affairs. In this capacity, Henry was
responsible for managing and leading WSPA’s state government affairs
operation (legislative and regulatory) in California and driving the execution
of the organization’s advocacy priorities.
Henry served as senior director of state advocacy for the Pharmaceutical
Research and Manufacturers of America responsible for Arizona, Nevada and California. In 2016, he played a key role
in the defeat of Proposition 61 and several local and state measures that would have slowed innovation.
In the legislature, Henry served in the state Assembly representing California’s 31st district from 2010-2015. During his
tenure, he served as chairman to three separate policy committees including Revenue and Taxation, Insurance and
Agriculture. Other standing committees he served on include Government Organization, Banking and Finance, and
Elections and Redistricting.
Henry earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from California State University, Fresno and a master’s degree in leadership and management from the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy. Henry is married to Yahaira Garcia-Perea
and they have three children.
