The upload feature provides the capability of uploading data (SSN's) from your PC to your CIRS PERMSML file. The SSN's can then be used in creating Employment History or Payment History Extract files. Refer to Extract Functions for more information.
This feature cannot be initiated unless HR-ISA has been contacted and a procedure established. Also, this feature is available only to designated users. To receive upload authority, submit Form CIRS001 to HR-ISA. Refer to the form for completion instructions.
Due to the variety of emulation packages available, this manual cannot address how to perform the actual upload on the PC side, and will only discuss how to initiate the upload function from CIRS. For assistance using your file transfer software, contact your campus IT support.
To upload a file, type a 1 at the cursor on the Other menu and press enter.

A screen with upload instructions will display. The instructions must be followed exactly, otherwise, the upload feature will not work properly. The name of the file you are uploading is provided in Step 3 of the instructions. Use only the name supplied, otherwise the file transfer will fail.

PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTION CAREFULLY BEFORE PROCEEDING:
1. AFTER READING THESE INSTRUCTIONS ENTER GO ON THE COMMAND LINE
2. WHEN THE TSO COMMAND SCREEN APPEARS SWITCH OVER TO YOUR PC.
3. ENTER YOUR PC COMMANDS TO UPLOAD USING THE
FOLLOWING FILE NAME AS YOUR TO FILE:
'PD.CSUCFOC.RPTUSER.PERMSML.USERID'
TRANSFER PROGRAM REQUIRES THAT SINGLE QUOTES ENCLOSE
THE FROM FILE NAME SPECIFIED ABOVE. REFER TO YOUR
SOFTWARE DOCUMENTATION FOR THE CORRECT UPLOAD SYNTAX.
4. WHEN THE UPLOAD IS COMPLETE SWITCH BACK TO THE MAINFRAME.
5. PRESS THE F3 KEY TO EXIT.

At the TSO COMMAND PROCESSOR screen, open the file transfer program on your PC. Do not make any entries at this screen. Note: If you need to stop the upload process after it has already been initiated on the PC, switch back to the mainframe (CIRS) and press the PA1 key.
